When people first see our logo they often ask: why a whale? For us, the answer is in the breach, the moment a whale pushes up from the deep and breaks the surface into open air.
Rising from the deep
Many of the young people and families who find Collide have spent a long time under the surface. They may have been misunderstood at school, struggled to find the right support, or felt alone in what they were carrying. A breach doesn’t erase the deep water. It shows what becomes possible when there is enough momentum, support and hope to rise.
Strength, not fragility
Whales are powerful, intelligent and deeply social. They travel in pods, communicate across great distances and look after their young. That’s the picture of neurodivergence we want to hold up: different ways of thinking and sensing that carry real strength, especially when people are connected to a community that understands them.
Rebuilding Hope. Rebuilding Lives. Rebuilding Families.
Collide was founded in 2020 by a parent who knew first-hand how hard it can be to find the right help. Our programs for neurodivergent youth and young adults aged 14 to 30, and the families who love them, are built around that same idea of rising together. Every counselling session, creative program and family conversation is a small breach: a moment of coming up for air.
If you or someone you love is ready to break the surface, we’d love to hear from you. Visit our Contact page to start the conversation.
